I like it. It is okay to be alone. There are far worse fates. At least you can be yourself. I am not a big drinker, but I understand what you said there.
That's because I'm irish and sometimes to give shit some extra emphasis, we pronounce it shte, like night.
Drinking alone is just going for a head change..so, it is not as bad as it may feel or appear. you can speak alone, but there are no ears to hear the words..so, they fall to the ground with no destination.
Yeah, I'd rather smoke alone, but lack of opportunity and financial constraints has led me to drink. I find it boring drinking alone though, which is why I rarely do it. One of the best things about drinking is bouncing conversations off of others whereas if I'm stoned, I can easily find opposing opinione within.
One of my favourite words that very few people other than Irish people use is gobshite. It's somebady who talks a load of crap, or an idiot. gob = mouth My uncle jack used to frequently be heard shouting, 'Shut your gob!'
