i just begun my lil dreadies... and ive seen lots of pros of aloe vera... i have two aloe vera plants... how can i get the aloe out?! ive tried, but i cant seem to get a whole lot outta one stem/leaf, and my plants arent too big yet... what do i do? oh, heres a pic.... yeah pretty shitty quality picture, but who gives a fuck? peace out, yo.
one time when i was in florida, my dad got sunburned so i took an aloe leaf and you cut it down the buddle like the sides ya know so you upen it and i spread that on back and it worked really good. that what you do to get it out. just let em grow a bit more. haha make sure you dont take too many stems off at once or it could i think die and that would be devistating haha. peace
i havent done this but ive been told how u do it... u cut it down the middle theres white in the middle (im told) ant u scoop it out toss it in a blender and it makes it a gel. *Disclamer* i havent done this but ive been told how its done
I was told by this African lady that back home she would just take the leaf, split it down the middle, then scrape out the white, put it in your hands and lather up like soap with a bit of water. I've not done it myself. One point though, aloe(i THINK) has a bit of moisturing in it so if they are new dreads i wouldnt recomend it yet. leave it untill they need the strengthening that aloe gives. Aloe is good for just bringing some nourishment to the hair as far as i know. So if the yare baby dreads your hair wont need it too much at the moment.
To get aloe out I usually break off a piece of the plant and, with my thumb nail, cut it down the middle and open it up. yah
I've been using that for many months now and it works great for getting rid of frizzys. Only problem is it leaves flakes in your hair.. but it washes out.. so yay!
hehehe it does work BUT i got no flakes wanna kno how?? u palmroll really well BUT ur dreads have to be not fully dry like if u wash and dont blow dry in a hour or so it will be perfect there not dripping wet but if u squeeze it a drop or 2 will come out... so heres wat u do wait till its about that dry/wet mixture than palm roll than take a lil bit and palm roll it in let air dry NOT HAIR DYIER EVEN ON LOW thats the secrete and it does work great
problem is with that and ALL gels is that its being rubbed INTO your dreads. Meaning your rubbing gelatin or some other gel producing chemical (becasue no GEL is completely natural) into your dreads. It wont ever ALL come out trust me gel isnt that much different to wax. I avoid it all personally but i guess its down to personal preferance.
