I went to smoke with my friend, and we went outside and I got my stuff outta my car. I was just gonna go on the side of my house because it was late at night but he wanted to go to the park. So we drove up to the park in his car. There happened to be a cop chilling in the parking lot(well we assumed it was a cop, it had its lights on so we had couldn't tell for sure) and so we turned around and left. We checked this field next to it, and it seemed sketchy so we went to the next neighborhood over, and there was a park there. Turned out to be people there so we left. We went back to see if the cop was still there, bad mistake. Sure enough he was still there, and as we pulled out, we went back to the field and just parked there. It was pretty foggy for some reason, so we figured it would be okay. As we were getting out of the car and getting ready, we see a car going down the main street, and then he turns to where we are at. It was a cop. We went into the car when we saw him coming down the main street. I had my weed, bubbler, lighter, and grinder on me. My friend had nothing because he doesn't smoke much and it was all my stuff. I threw it under the seat(nowhere else good to put it before the cop came up), and the cop came and asked what we were doing. We said we were lost looking for a friends house. My friend said we didn't live there. From there on we had to make up some bullshit, because I actually live there. And as I was making this stuff up, it just sounded weird coming out because I was so nervous, and he could tell. He was like "Any particular reason you are nervous?" I said no. Then he was like "Or is it just cause I'm talking to you?" and I agreed with him. I mean I would be scared for being pulled over whether or not I had drugs on me. Getting pulled over is never fun. I said I had moved since my license said I lived here(hoping there was no way for him to actually check up on that). He wanted us to contact the person we were trying to hang out with, unfortunately I said another friends name that I was at my house, and he didn't come to smoke with us. I couldn't really have him say he lived at my house or anything because they were gonna go check. We said we didn't have his number, we just talked to him on facebook and he told us to meet up there. So he called a real cop up, because this guy is like the rent-a-cop guy. You know, the cops that work in neighborhoods and aren't real cops. Anyways, the new cop came up, and at that point I had thought to call my friend who lives across the street because he said we just needed to confirm that we were there with a friend and weren't trespassing, otherwise he would write us up for that. So I called him real quick and just told him to talk to the guy(he talked to the neighborhood cop). He just asked where he lived, and then he checked if it was real. And then the real cop came back and said it all checked out ok. Then he said he had his own suspicions on what we were doing, but he's just gonna let us go. So we said thanks and we left. We got so lucky. We were in the car the whole time, never had to get out. Never got searched. Nothing. Thank god. I am so glad. Scariest moment of my life. I never expected to leave the house but we did and I was fine with it, but it turned out to be a very close call. I'm so glad they let us go. I could literally smell the weed a little bit considering it was right under my seat. Luckily they didn't smell it. I'm so thankful for not getting searched. He did ask if I had anything I shouldn't, and we said no. If anything did happen though, I would have taken the full responsibility for everything. I mean it was on my side and it was all my stuff, so I would have told them it was mine, because my friend doesn't deserve to get in trouble for this. He has only smoked a handful of times, and he is going to a good college and has a good path for his life, so I wouldn't want to mess that up. It just wouldn't be fair to him. I almost thought to shove all the stove under the car before I got in, but I'm so glad I didn't because the cops didn't leave right away, they stayed as we drove off. So we wouldn't have gotten to keep out stuff and they probably would've found us and come to find us. Actually it was sketchy because we parked in front of the friends house that we called(just to seem legit, since I lived across the street anyways) and as we were getting out and talking to my friends that were still back at my house, the cop drove by. I'm not sure if he saw us but he saw the car. Anyways, I just needed to get that out. Now I'm just gonna stop thinking about it. I've done enough panicking for today. Scariest moment of my life.
sucks man. glad it worked out. what state you in, just out of curiosity? captain hindsight would have a thing or two to say about your night...
Dude, you where by your house and you went through all this? Next time, get out of your car and walk inside your house. Hell, just show him you live there. Plus he was a rent a cop. or a community service cop, don't be afraid of them, they can't do much. Been through the same crap sort of, I just get out of my car while cops stare at me and I walk inside.
The worst thing a rental cop can do is call the real cops. But since they can not detain you by the time real cops come you could have easily left.
"Any particular reason you are nervous?" "Sir guns always make me nervous. Would you be so kind as to leave that in your car while we talk?" lol
I didn't ALMOST get busted, I totally got busted for just a joint! Someone was tail gating me as i was driving, I floored it out of irritation just as a cop was pulling out from a side street. He took me for a lovery ride to the local pokey and I had to call my hubby to explain this fine mess. Wasnt the first time, I bet it wont be the last
what's the point of that? you're just reinforcing his tailgating behavior that way; speeding up is exactly what he wants you to do. when i'm getting tailgated, i just keep driving slower and slower until they either pass me or get the message and back off.
