    anyone ever had one?

SIK is having a hives outbreak over the last couple days. now this person is no noobie, sampled many a strain in the last couple years. but still? could it be the pot? or could the smoke be aggravating it further?
she shaved her a legs with a new shaving cream the other day, right about the time the hives started so thats what i was thinking but its wierd. anyone got an idea?

Probably just razor burn. I doubt it has anything to do with weed.

i get hives. i first noticed them about 2 years ago when i was taking a hot bath. it was terrible, and i had no clue what was happening to my body. i had a panic attack and was itchy as hell.
i got them a few more times that week and then went to the doctors. the doc said she had no clue what caused them but she could test me with a bunch of needles and i said "No Thanks".

after that i realized that every time that i got hot i would get hives. a hot bath/shower, going inside after being outside(winter), wearing warm clothing. i would get hives several times a day, every day.
so i went back to the docs and told her whats up. she said that they should clear up in about 6 months and told me to take an antihistamine. she said that the hives where caused by my sweat releasing too much histamine.
i started taking claritin to suppress the histamine and it worked somewhat.

i also noticed that just like your friend that i sometimes get allergic reactions to different bathroom products, such as shaving cream.

i don't think an allergic reaction to marijuana would produce reoccurring hives.

tell her to see her doc. time is the only thing that will tell you what the cause of her hives are.

Any new substance, like shaving cream, would be most suspect.

I got them when I did codine the first time only to find out im allergic to it, see if there is any chance that any of that was taken. Kinda out there one, but different response to the others, but they are prolly right.

she has seen the doc. they gave her some meds and said keep taking benadryl with em, all the pills help for about an hour or so but then it starts coming back. we are gonna see whats up today, she isnt going to smoke any bud and isnt going to be around the smoke. could the shaving cream reaction last like 4+ days? the doc told her she probably wouldnt know what caused it.
thanks for your help every1. its good to see this forum hasnt gone to hell completely in my absense.

    Could it be stress?

In any case, you want her to continue what she is doing, and let the doctors find a remedy that works while she is still smoking.

Heck, there's no trick to clearing up an allergic reaction when all they're doing is removing the allergen. There isn't any real improvement there.

i had a friend that was allergic to weed... if he handled it too long.. he would break out in hives.. so he was never able to bust up large quantities of weed.. so i'd help him break up lbs of weed for him.. he could still smoke it.. must've been the resin on the weed itself that made him itch
