i get horrible all day sickness and was wondering if any of you had any suggestions. i've tried ginger and that didn't seem to help at all, i also try eating smaller frequent meals and i still feel like poo! any help would be greatly appreciated. it's alot harder to be this sick when you have a toddler to take care of!

    Congrats and good luck :)

Hmm you can get wristbands that work on the principle of acupressure (like acupuncture, sans needles) those can be pretty good. Have used them myself against travel sickness.

    Peppermint can help too.

I suggest protein shakes. Everyone suggests a simple carbohydrate like crackers, but I think that sets you up for a sugar high and then the nausea lows ( low blood sugar- more sensitive to the pregnancy hormones)... I made fruit smoothies with spiru-tien shake mix. But sometimes you can get bulk protein shake mix in the bulk foods section, less expensive.

The protein shakes give you a nice even level of energy. And it help with that nutrition gap if you have a hard time keeping up.

Congratulations! I would love to have another!

make sure to never let your stomach get completely empty. Eat at least four or five small meals a day. Try a prenatal vitamin without iron, but check with your care provider first (they might want to test your blood iron levels first). For me, nausea was always due to either an empty belly or my vitamins.

Drink a lot of water. That really seemed to help me. What stayed down, anyway.

    YEAH! I forgot about that!!!!
Sadily, where I lived, we started to have water treatment happening to ours and it all tasted like chlorine....YUCKY! So there went my safe "food."
Plain and somewhat burnt popcorn helped me....one day I ate 6 bags...lol
it was weird to considering i loved overly butter popcorn before that...and I wouldn't go near it if it were burnt at all!

    Hey mama!
i don't have any suggestions for you, but wanted to offer you my sympathy! i had the horrible all-day sickness too, and NOTHING worked for it. Thankfully, it ended when the second trimester started...with my son i was sick almost the entire pregancy. Although the morning sickness didn't last as long this time around, it was much rougher with a 3 year old running about.
Just take it easy, and hopefully it'll be over soon sister!
    Many blessings,
    ~tree
