Who else here is a big fan of Alex Grey? I simply love the power and psychedelic spirituality of this man's work. He changed his last name to Grey because the color grey is the link between all thats light and dark, black and white, good and evil. All this time I thought it was a birth-given name. If you're a big fan of the heavy metal band Tool, then you'd definitely recognize his work. On Saturday night, I saw him do a live painting with his wife Allyson. I took a small hit of acid as well. It was a great show.
How can you not love Alex Grey LOVE LOVE LOVE him I can't wait to visit the new chapel of sacred mirrors...one day (I also love tool, so yeah ) He's done some art for String Cheese Incident too :sunny: must have been a good show, badass man
It was a great show! The acid wasn't a very strong dosage so I didn't hallucinate, but I certainly felt it. I found out later that I texted my friend from 300 miles away about intergalactic mind travel for some reason. Alex Grey talked a lot about the works and theory behind other psychedelic artists such as H.R. Giger. The Chapel of Mirrors, and his theory and philosophy of his art. He compares an artist's tool to a magic wand, creating worlds as it moves across a canvas
