A couple of weeks after the gas attack in Khan Sheikhoun most likely commited by the Assad regime, comes this suicide bombing on civilians by rebels in government held territory

    From the article:

Whilst the gas attack didnt specifically target children, this rebel attack seemed tio have

Whose side are you on, which is the lesser of two evils?

It's very complex, and I don't like to definitively take sides. But - Assad has the advantage of being a secular ruler.

If getting rid of Assad means another Sunni Muslim government in the region, then I'd rather Assad.

This has been a bloody and horrible conflict. Both sides have committed atrocities. But do we really want another Islamic state? And if Assad falls, what are the realistic chances we won't get that?

I agree with Trump for attacking the air base in retaliation for the gas attack because we cant have people using chemical weapons

But at the same time some of those rebels are team al-qaeda, so by attacking the Assad regime he is kinda of, sort of, assisting the same like minded fellows responsible for 9-11

    Bizarre

I think Assad is the lesser of two evils

When Saddam Hussein used mustard gas and nerve agents on his own people, the Kurds, and even his neighbors the Iranians the US did nothing and, in fact, we supported him with money and weapons for many years. Taking the moral high ground only when its convenient is not taking the moral high ground, but political expediency. Political expediency in a country where the majority insist the government and mass media all lie to them for their own good to the point where Al Jazeera is now famous for being the most comprehensive and objective news agency in the world, while Fox News is legally entertainment and our constitutional rights have been suspended indefinitely and courts can now compel a man to testify against himself.

As for which side in this conflict has the moral high ground, the entire middle east is now filled with genocidal maniacs thanks to a century of western intervention. The Russians are even worse than the US at such things, but the US is working hard to become every bit as disreputable and making rapid progress.

Assad is the lesser of two evils

But a huge reason why the Syrian war is so convoluted is the major powers pouring money and military might into whatever side will help their own self interests.

And I think it is absolutely disgusting that the US is funneling money to help the same terrorist groups they have supposedly fought against for the past couple of decades.

The Syrian people don't really stand a chance of finding peace and rebuilding their country as long as other countries continue to wage a proxy war in their country.
