My dad is but not much to share. I come from a family of them but thankfully my mom and I aren't. My younger brother is becoming one though.

neither of my parents are. i have a deceased uncle who was one and he got help at AA. some other family that i don't know too well were alcoholics.

some people say i'm becoming an alcoholic because of the way i go out drinking. but i dont' believe i'm becoming an alcoholic though...

Alcoholism is the only disease people can yell at you for having.

    Alcoholism predisposed?

I don’t know, who is buying?

Yes, though, it is in the genes. Don’t put an open bottle in there, it gets wet.

My dad was a long time ago but not anymore. My first memories of him are pretty bad.

It's such a taboo subject in our home.

    Define alcoholic

Some poeple have different definitions of it. Almost my entire family has a drink or two most everyday and occasionally more than a couple. To some, someone who drinks almost everyday is considered an alcoholic, which is a statement I disagree with.

I'm pretty much just like my father and brother. I probably have 3 glasses of red wine four days a week, a little more than that 2 days a week and don't drink 1 day a week. I'm not saying thats the way it always is, but on average, that's pretty much my lifestyle regarding alcohol consumption.

    Would you consider that alcoholism?

My grandpa was an alcoholic, but he became stone cold sober before I ever came around. But that's why my grandma drinks near-beer instead sometimes, and I could never buy him chocolates with any liquer flavouring (he loves chocolate)
