This is just a thread dedicated in the memory of Albert Hofmann, the man who first synthesized LSD in 1938, who died of a heart attack a few days ago on April 29, 2008 at his home in Switzerland. It's amazing he lived to be 102 years old. I know LSD doesn't have any negative physical effects, but even so just the aspect of it is amazing. It's ironic that someone who occasionally did acid for many decades could live to be so old and die almost healthy as a horse. Another funny thing is that, being so elderly, he didn't even die from old age, but a heart attack. Anyways, all that aside, I would have really liked to meet him. He must have been a very interesting guy with more wisdom than anyone can imagine. We need more philosophical people like that in the world. R.I.P Albert Hofmann January 11, 1906 - April 29, 2008 (January 11 is my birthday as well, i just found that out. Interesting heh.)
nice bit of info. thanks. i've enjoyed using psych's myself from time to time. alot more when i was younger, now just every once in a while.
dude i heard about...we were talking about people that died for some reason some kid was like "hey the guy who invented acid just died" but i thought he meant like a year ago. sweeet.
my friend told me yesterday. man hes kinda like living proof what the government says about psychedelics is all bull shit. he was doing lsd, mushrooms, mescaline, ayahuasca and so on and so forth for years. these are drugs people would like you to believe are deadly and stupid. the man lived to be a 102. anyways were all in dept to the great man, he will be missed. anybody else tripping soon in memory of him?
I did a candyflip on his birthday without even knowing it. And no I won't be tripping anytime soon seeing as I've given up all drugs.
momentarily or forever? all drugs including marijuana? im assuming that includes weed but i just thought id ask to be sure
that's really weird, on the day he died, we spent the entire science class talking about him and debating whether or not he was still alive. whoa.
I wish I could trip in his memory, sometime soon........but it'll be a while It's a pity that he died, but it's a miracle he lived so long. I doubt any of us will live that long and, if we do, I doubt we will be in such good health at that age. RIP Dr. Hofmann:spliff:
yah all i could get on short notice was some mushshrooms but seeing as how he first isolated psilocybin in mushrooms im sure he would approve
I wonder if his state of mind had anything to do w/his longevity? and was his state of mind so positive due to lsd.
most likely for good. and yes it includes marijuana. this summer i'm gonna be doing a few drugs but after that i'm quitting for good. i'm sticking with the hippy culture, but i just won't be doing drugs. i'm trying to live a little healthier and pot won't help with that.
