Yeah, there are many of us. Keep thinking we should all get together sometime/somewhere. Peace, poor_old_dad
Hey Samson, Hope you've been staying away from all those nasty blues things. Lately I've been avoiding Joan Baez & Joni Mitchell the same way. Peace, poor_old_dad
Yes. Getting together would be awesome. What does everyone say we organize something like that? I mean we could put together a small Rainbow Gathering type of deal. With music and shit. That would be kick ass. We should definately do that. Whos in?
Well hey there everyone! I just joined the forums today and was seeing who all lived around my neck of the woods. Take care and thanks!
OK, I'll try to help breathe a little life into this thread. I'm a beach bum that is land locked in central Alabama. Maybe we can have a tubing trip down the Cahaba river this summer since the drought is over & won't bump our butts on the rocks. There's a place called Limestone that is private & allows drinking & smoking
That sounds fun and i love tubing. How far is it from mobile? Is it like the montgomery area maybe? Theres a place around here called stixx river where everyone goes tubing. Well since your a beach bum then i'm sure you have been to gulf shores. I go there often during the summer, its a pretty fun time.
It's only a 5-6 hour drive from Mobile. Gulf shores is a little closer. I like to go to Cape San Blas, which is about 10-15 min. east of Panama City. You can walk down the beach and occasionally see another person. Styx river on Hwy 90 is 4 hours from my house. .:driving: We'll have to see if anyone else bites on a summer beach trip that would include a Styx river tube experience where a few of us could meet.
Cool deal. Well we could even try to do both lol. Or wait and see who all wants to go and the majority might want to just go to Cape San Blas. Who knows.
The Cape is too far from Styx to do both. A weekend camping in Gulf Shores Park with a side trip to Styx would be more realistic. And maybe a night at the Flori-bama and/or Pink Pony too.:cheers2: Therer is nothing around the Cape other than 1 country store, houses, and a state park. The park would be a good place to camp & hang out, but don't expect to run to a restaurant or fast food joint for food. Which doesn't bother me. I will camp for a week or more without needing a store, but everyone would have to come prepared.
