I posted this on the computers forum but the people who go there are lazy farts. Seriously, I only got one reply and he said he knew the answer but was too lazy to write it out.

I hate it when people know that I'm not idle anymore. It's frustrating. I have an apple which I love but I can't seem to find a setting on AIM or Ichat that disables the function that lets people know when I'm no longer idle. Anyone know how to remedy this?

i love my mac too..go to preference menu and the first "general" tab that is there should have availability under it, with the options: When I return to my computer & I'm away: keep status as away, set my status to available, ask me what to do.

Hope that helps..that's the only thing I can think of that would do the trick.
