Brain-like computers moving closer to cracking codes

Intel wants to move beyond today’s architecture, with brain-inspired and quantum chips.

The first article doesn't come right out and say it, but this is related to Intel's new Loihi chip, that uses a super-efficient metamorphic architecture that can also calculate data stochastically. The chip uses almost no power whatsoever, imitates the firing of your neurons, and is self-learning. I was wondering what use it might have, but what this new information means is everyone will require one in their computer or some sort of quantum cryptography just to avoid being cracked by every kid on the block. The implications are mind-blowing and, IBM for example, has been working for perhaps two decades on squeezing a neuromorphic computer that is somewhere between that of a cat and human brain, into a coffee can sized object for the military.

That the Army researchers are releasing this information immediately is more than frightening. Revealing cryptographic secrets and frightening the public is never on their agenda.
