I'm going to a potluck to celebrate the harvest in 2 days (august 1), and I really want to share a delicious vegan thing with all the people atteneding. I have some ideas, but does anyone else have anything relatively simple to make?
Spagetti. I am an onmi, and it took me the longest time to think of a dish that I could make both vegan and tasty.
Check out www.vegweb.com/food www.cok.net/lit/recipes bound to be something good there. How about..... A salad: Cliche perhaps, but there are plenty of good ones. rice salad: Just cook up plenty of rice, then stir in peppers, corn, rasins etc. A yummy vegan cake Flapjacks Fruit salad PS I love your name
BBQ Tempeh (self-explanatory)...My favorite.. Edamame with Tofu (you could probably just steam the edamame. Pan fry or stir fry tofu with cajun, curry, or chili pepper) Cold peanut noodles (you can't go wrong here) DON'T FORGET THE NUTS!!! (add scallions, don't forget that) wow..there's a lot..definitely checkout the sites listed above.. Desserts always lead to happy faces too.. There are some great vegan desserts.. Look em' up on how to make..
Thanks, everyone! I didn't actually get to go to the Lamas todayMy parents wouldn't let me because they didn't know the people. Sigh. But thank,s I got some great ideas! And which name were you talking about?
Aww poor Sunny, I didn't end up doing much for Lammas eithier. I love all your name, Sunburst Harmoine-Raen is very pretty.
Awww, thanks so much I was going to change my name (Sunburst), and tried to find something new, I've had Sunburst for years now and was getting less fond of it. I ended up keeping it (for now), along with something that I felt was the right name for me. BTW: I love your's too
Ok, I know this is a little late for that potluck thing you had to go to, but for future reference, I have a good vegan dish that most people can handle. I call it Spaghetti Pie, but basically you can use a wide array of ingredients in it. Think of it as a sort of lasagna, except with any type of noodles, sauce (vegan, of course), vegetables if you so wish, and tofu. I also like to add mock pepperoni. Never tried mock cheese on it, but that could work too. It's an anything-goes dish. I just put the cooked noodles in a big pan, smother them with sauce and tofu and other fillings, and make a few more layers like that, of noodles, sauce, tofu, and mock pepperoni. Hope this can help somebody in the future!
