Hello, I want to get dreads, but there is a certain kind of look I want, and I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to how to get this. I think what I want is the "new" dreadlock look. I don't really want the super knotty thick dreads that a lot of people have, but rather a bunch of dreads that are much thinner and smoother looking (less "braided" and knotty) I know this is what "newer" dreads look like but I was wondering how I could keep them looking that way permanently. I found some images online of the kind of look I'm going for. Any advice for achieving this? Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
yeah, doubt you can keep dreads looking new like that for an extended period of time... why do you want them to look new, if you don't mind my asking...
All that the individuals in the photos did was loose backcombing. Nothing special, it's two days of labor and pain.
i dont really think youll have much success keeping them looking new like that unless you put crap in them to keep them from locking, but even then it will take alot of maintenece and your hair will probably get mouldy or something. if you just want them temorarily, you could backcomb and then take them out in a week or so but i cant see anyone going through that much pain and trouble. why do you want them to look new?
