I want to adopt a cat, preferably from siameserescue.org. My problem is that on the application you have to include two non-related references, but I have no friends. So the only people I can put down are either family members, which are not allowed, or coworkers. But asking any of those guys would be really awkward, and none of them know my home personal life very well anyway, just that I like music and smoking pot... information that I'm afraid might pose a problem when they get interviewed.

    What should I do?

Ipersonally always get animals from the pound, someone who has kittens and is trying to get rid of them, or if one comes up. I dont really know if i can help accept to say pick people who you know are cool. Kind of like a job reference on an application i guess.

    good luck.

Have you had a pet in the past? If so, put down your vet's name. They always are a good reference. Otherwise, let the shelter either know your situation or ask a family member with a different last name tell a little white lie saying they are a friend of yours.

if you are adopting a cat insist that the cat is FIP tested. its a very common and deadly disease in cats and you don't want to go through that pain.
