I could perhaps post this in another sub-forum; but something in one of tikoo's posts under the "Thirteen Skulls" got me to thinking. (uh oh - I've been told it's better for me not to think too much...seriously, but lol and oh well) I've heard of adepts...those that can physically appear/disappear (as needed), that can be testers and/or watchers.and/or teachers..but I guess you have to be a really sincere seeker and special to get a visit where you know you've met an adept. From what I've gathered, it's not like they would have adept tatooed across their forehead or anything, as one would seem like anyone else. Have y'all heard of this? Met one lately? Is there one at HF watching our foolish asses?
Wut like predators? Cloaking devices? Or they just do a split, because they owe you money or something. I saw a ghost, while I was making toast, so I like to boast anyway.
Never heard of anything called an "Adept." It sounds like Deanna et al - people I call my "spirit guides" - except for the appearing and disappearing bit - I've never seen Deanna do that...
I thought of Deanna also...but it seems this person (an adept) would be more "ageless" and/or older than I perceive Deanna to be. Has anyone ever read any Linda Goodman books - and not the astrology ones? It would seem she had met one.
I think they could be a guardian angel, easygoing. But I get the feeling an adept would be more like an "advanced" lama, if that makes sense. McLeodGanja, gotta luv those rhymes. and ya' know - they would have cloaking devices.
Most are moved along by life in a mechanical fashion. That is they respond to life through a prism of cultural conditioning. Mastery is picking your life up or laying your life down, at will. To me this is the only measure of "an adept".

there was a guest speaker on the coast-2-coast radio show recently who spoke of the Adepts . there were several different stories she made a stew of . 1. Rama , Bhudda , Jesus , Mohammed , the Dalai Lama ... as some re-incarnating master Adepts 2. the Council ... guardians of the human super-soul , our shared psyche 3. the Teachers ... exclusive earthly enclaves of esoteric wisdom . the speaker said she had been a student at an enclave . 4. Masters of the Many Worlds ... stories of the Adepts are noisy . when i lived in Oregon i heard bits of meta-physical stories in my ramblings among artists and hippies , and thought upon them casually . i could relate them to through remembering my Lsd experience of mind that at the root was made from old primal stories . and comic books , too. occasionally i feel people treat me like an adept and a community asks me to do some service . so i do it . but , cripey , itsa such a lonesome perspective of knowing about it , and then life returns to whispers .
Adapts for me are Beings who take form at will and travel waves of consciousness depending on their knowledge, skill, wisdom, insight, or training. Channeling is a perfect example as is an "Ah Ha" moment when information comes to you that you had no way of knowing. Because there are many different levels of understanding and awareness an adapt will seek out those of like mind to develope their skills as they help those they connect with. They may not always show themselves or make their presents known. Another example is Spiritual adapts will seek out those desiring to grow in the spiritual realms of consciousness. Last one I saw was a few weeks ago while doing a healing session following a Soul Retrieval. The Adept, a female wanted to know why I was searching for answers for this person when in a dream they already had the answer. Not waiting for me to answer the Adept brought forth the dream and the information. I related this to the woman. She admitted this woman was following her giving her information and felt like they had been connected in a past life. I asked the adept woman and she told me she had been assigned to this woman as a teacher in an esoteric school. In a nut shell, Adepts are not ghost, or astral spirits. They are forms in training on different levels of awareness and consciousness working with intent and traveling with energy as we would travel on a road from point A. to point B. The most "ageless" person I've ever known was 19 years old when I met her. On the outside she looked like a young girl, but telepathically she was utterly astounding...and every once in a while she would allow me a glimpse on the outside of her true being. Deanna is 47, but I have gotten clues that she's at a beginning stage of "training" as a spirit guide - and I will say that I think she's very good, though she has had some "help" dealing with me. Physical age has nothing to do with it.
We know each other to the extent that we know ourselves. To have a teacher is a curious endeavor where a teacher merely reflects what is in the pupil. If someone tells you that you are wise, the one making the claim is of equal stature in that it takes wisdom to recognize wisdom. We conceive ourselves alone or separate by virtue of indoctrination. We are taught by our parents and the lesson proves itself over and again to be suspect due to the fact that it has not brought us together. There is another teacher in the world, and that one is not, apparent.

To me it's a question of what I can perceive. It seems to me you perceive more than I do - at this point in time. Certainly I can see that a lot of what my "teachers" do is reflections of myself back to me. At the same time, when I look at perception and volition, I see disparities. Maybe at the deepest level we are all one, however at my current level of perception I see separate entities with apparently greater perception than mine and with volition separate from mine and sometimes at (apparently) cross purposes to mine. As I was puzzling over your post, trying to understand it, Deanna said in my mind, "Maybe what he's saying is that you just need to love fun." And I know this statement is a reflection of my own thought a moment before she said it.
meta-physics is pure fun . some people cut and paste anything that seems cool . some are like Plato and make diagrams of geometry and words . some tell an endless story so long ya can't stand there and listen to it . where stands the Adept ?
