i was wondering what the best way to take adderall xr 15mg capsule? whats the difference between the pill and capsulse? or the xr? what would it be like? i need them to study and just curious what its going to be like...so please tell me!
1. Open the capsule and carefully crush the beads into a fine powder. Then insufflate the powder. 2. When taken orally, the pill releases all of the amphetamine at once. The capsule allows half the amphetamine to be released in the beginning and then the other half to be released four hours later. If insufflated, it doesn't matter. It all is absorbed at once, like the Immediate Release pill would. 3. What is it like? 15mg will make you calm but mentally energized. You will be happy but possible jittery in a contradictory way. You will be less bored by boring things. You may also feel more empathy towards people and more willing to listen to them talk about stupid shit. As for school work, you will find the work more interesting, you won't procrastinate as easily, and you won't be as distracted to take breaks. If you are just using it to study, you might want to just take the capsule orally, so that it lasts a long time. But if you want to experience the amphetamine high, insufflation is in order. It is up to you.
i do have another question actually... the adderall 15 xr capsule someone gave to me, it seemed like it was half full? like the beads only filled about half of the capsule and wasn't 100% full of beads. is this normal?
Yes. That is completely normal. Some medicines use capsules that are 'too big' for the contents. The general Adderall XR capsule has beads that come just a little bit over half the way up.
The adderall in the capsules are XR(extended release). Duration: 12 hours Adderall instant release(tablet form) Duration: 6 hours
That's actually not true. A crushed 15 XR is equal to 15 mg IR. There is not double the amphetamine in extended release Adderall. You are 100% correct about the time duration, though. I just don't want people to think XR is double the strength if crushed. It simply is false.
Yeah man there are 30Mg in 15mg xr... 15mg dose is powder in the capsule, then inside the plastic time release beads is another 15mg. Otherwise how does it stay active for so long if there's not two doses. Google it.
I'll double check it on google, but I had a pretty lengthy discussion with my psychiatrist about this about a year ago, and he convinced me otherwise. I'll look it up though, and I'll post the source with the answer in this thread so we can both know the 'correct' answer haha.
Yeah. My psychiatrist was correct. See the following (directly from the Patient Information Sheet for Adderall XR brand): As you can see in Photo 1, the 20mg XR capsule contains 4 different amphetamine salts, each weighing 5mg. This totals 20mg amphetamine salts, or 12.5mg amphetamine base (that part isn't important, though). To further prove the point (since the site DID word it ambiguously, see Photo 2. In this photo, it unequivocally shows that plasma concentration levels of Dextro or Levo amphetamine are EQUAL for Adderall XR 20mg and Adderall IR 10mg TWICE A DAY (that is what b.i.d means). So that answers the question. Thanks for bringing it up though, since I wasn't 100% sure about it myself. Hope this helps other people viewing the topic.
etkearne is correct here. There is a difference in the beads in the capsule, some will release quicker while the others dissolve more slowly thus the extended release.
would have been nice to have been back in the 50's/60's standing in line at the Pharmacy. Back then they would create real speeders. Mixes of ALL 3 amphetamines (levo, dextro, meth) and a fourth ingredient a downer, a barbiturate (or, in one case Quaalude)to take the edge off. Google various old time speed drug names from back then like Dexamyl, Dexadrine, Benzadrine, Biphetamine, Desoxyn, etc., and prepare to laugh at some of the advertisements. Housewives pushing vaccums, obese people taunted by depictions food or physical activies, all manner of tired and haggard, or sad looking (depression) ladies, unreal. Be like today a GSK ad for Adderall with some college kid, hat on backwards, hunkered down and studying like there's no tomorrow.
I love vintage ads for amphetamines and also for antipsychotics. My Dad who grew up in the late 60s has told me all abou the various forms of speed he could get. He grew up in Inner City Baltimore so drugs were rampant and widely available. He always asks me " So, that Vyvanse you take is like Black Beauties"? And I answer, yes. Black beauties had 75 percent dextroamphetamine 25 percent Levoamphetamine and Vyvanse is 100 percent dextroamphetamine. Haha. He thinks it is funny that I take that stuff every day and thinks I am high all of the time haha.
is XR the same composition as IR tablets? I would have bet my life on, pretty sure I even had literature stating, Adderall was exactly the same as biphetamine (which I used daily in say 1995-97) 50% Dextro, 50% racemic mixture (50% dextro, 50% levo) for the same 75% Dex formula. But here I'm looking at what you posted and that is not the case. What in the hell? I heard the factory in Mexico that pumped out the beauties (who also had their products put on the street, cab drivers in border towns, that was a common thing, and the stuff wasn't just white crosses or bootleg crap. And I guarantee you won't find a pill there today, just crystal (which is poison)) shut their doors the same day Adderall came on the market in 1997. IIRC Desoxyn is still mfg., but the DEA watches every time it's prescribed. Ever see Another Day In Paradise? In your pharmacologiacal research, did you ever come across something about speed and a rare disease/condition called Cushing's Syndrome? I believe I have this, a milder case, and was brought about by years of amphetamine abuse. As well, self diagnosis and all, but I discovered that i have Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism. i have read medical documentation that amphetamines can aggrivate a latent case of it. And it is unmistakeable how all those symptoms really flare up when i'm taking adderall. My grandpa (an evil man, brawler, whoremonger, raging alcoholic (and mean drunk) was a trucker. My dad told me he would go into pharmacies with him, he'd talk to the guy, then they'd pull the truck around back and hand a roll of cash for a paper bag full of Dexadrine and Seconal I would like to give Vyvanse a try. Hell maybe my doc would give me a month supply, i tell him it's not working, and still get a month of adderall. From what I read, it's a pro-not really dextro but it creates/becomes it in your body, and was designed to be hard to abuse? What's yoour take, if I got that right?
