This is what "the dope" said; "And if you waterbrother, saw the truth about your brother you would weep for joy at the beauty you see there and know that he is gods gift to you." One, it implies that I do not see the truth about my brother which is untrue. Next, the phrase; "And if you ..... saw the truth about your brother you would weep for joy at the beauty you see there and know that he is gods gift to you.", is true but depends on what is meant by "the truth". There are things called the truth by some, that are not true.
I assumed that "the dope" meant alive in the sense of alive as a human. You are correct, Jesus is now more alive than any of us called alive.
Who are the laborers of the harvest, what is the harvest, and why should we pray for more of them? I would refer you to post #354.
Nice dodge. Nice dodge. Isn't it you that many times has referred to the Bible as just a book? The reason seems to be that that bible is precious to you but the Bible itself does not seem to have much meaning for you. No, not me, I believe the quoted scripture says it.
All traditions are of the same nature. The ritual is regarded as the truth itself. We trade away our honest relationship with god to measure ourselves against an ideal. Helpful is a matter of timing, life is emergent.
Thank you, but I have forgotten what I'm dodging. It is the content. If it were ever destroyed, I would have occasion to replace it. Do you suggest waterbrother that the holy spirit is not present at this moment?
Try reading what the Bible has to say about it, instead of depending on what your Bible scholars have to say for once. You might start here 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. No, the Pharisees were not interested in serving God or learning what God's word has to say but in egotistical prominence and flattering titles. The weightier matters of the Law, namely, justice and mercy and faithfulness. Ooooh, a new name, finally get tired of fundamentalist and literalist? I never said or implied that Jesus was a "legalist", I merely was pointing out that Jesus had great respect for the "word of God" which includes the Mosaic Law. I've already answered it, you just don't like the answer. You insist that the Bible has to say what you want it to say, even though the rest of the Bible disagrees with you.
Yep that's your Jesus, all sweetness and light and don't let me see behind the curtain. You don't want to know that Jesus was real and not the one dimensional being you want him to be, even if you have to discard most of the Bible to do so.
Another nice dodge, the questions of course. Like I said if it's the content, why do disregard it so often. I make no such suggestion, I just pointed out that you, as usual, left out part of the scripture you cited and the part you left out was "For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst."
Actually you said more than that: "As for your quote, it actually says this; "For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." So for this to happen they have to be gathered in Jesus name and you would have to know what that Name represents, not just make it up as you go along." Do we call upon Jesus' name or not? IS the holy spirit present with us in this moment?
