A woman has been charged after animal rights activists stormed a busy Perth restaurant that banned vegans and clashed with staff. 'Blood on your hands': Activist charged after storming restaurant that 'banned' vegans Running a restaurant is hard, stressful work for small reward. Give this guy a break.
Be nice to Vegans. When industrial civilization implodes, they're going to be your only source of free-range, grass-fed meat.
As a person who follows a "Plant Based Diet" for health reasons, I feel that is going too far. If a food facility wants to represent its business, as one who caters to Omnivores, that is proper and OK. The term "VEGAN" brings a more militant and "In Your Face" image in my mind. I reject the use of vegan as it pertains to my life choices. I owe my current longevity to the elimination of chemicals, pesticides, cholesterol, triglycerides, growth hormones, and antibiotics from my diet. It is a choice issue, and militant vegans need to get a life.
^^^ You do realise that once you go past 50, the lower your cholesterol, the greater your chance of dying?
People over 50 will be dying sooner rather than later. One of my grand fathers died of a stroke at 31. The other grand father died of hypertension and diabetes at 55. My mother died at 76 of a heart attack. My Father died at 72 from diabetes and coronary artery disease at 72. I am 79 and my cholesterol on a plant based diet is 139 at my last checkup. Since I retired I have lost 46 pounds and within 4 pounds of my weight in Basic Training. Remember that your body produces its own cholesterol. I will take my chances with Tofu.
Protestors are protestors. They get up in the morning and think, 'what shall we protest about today'. When things get nasty and our daughter has to book them all into police custody, it is all the same faces, no matter what the protest was about. They put them all in the same row of cells, which they call, 'The Nutters Brigade'.
Running a restaurant is challenging, and it can be not easy to cater to everyone's dietary preferences. While respecting people's choices is important, resorting to disruptive actions like storming a restaurant and clashing with staff is not an appropriate or constructive way to address the issue. The woman charged in this incident should be held accountable for her actions, as they caused disruption and endangered the well-being of others.
