I despise it when people use that term. Such and such is an acquired taste, you either love it or hate. That is such obvious dren. If you love it, you never had to acquire the taste for it because you loved it right away. And if you hate it, you never had to acquire a hate for something you never liked. You only acquire a taste for something when you override your initial, most honest feelings over a period of time to acquire a semblance of enjoyment for it. Most people cannot get over their old dog ways to get used to anything new, because anyone with half a brain knows that change is basically impossible.
what? i beg to differ.. i bought these cuban peanuts like a week ago.. i didnt like them.. but they were kinda expensive so i kept eating them.. lol then eventually i actually really did start to like them.
There are lots of things that are acquired tastes. Some things that challenge the senses, be it food, music, etc. can also be very rewarding with perseverance. I strongly disagree with the OP, but that is nothing new.
I kinda agree with the OP...kinda...I think we begin with pure tastebuds that are not assaulted by the many stimulant/excitotoxins and emotional associations that we learn about food and tastes. At that point we can manipulate our tastebuds as we grow older and more emotionally adept to our cultural viewpoints, but with cleansing(physical and emotional and spiritual) we can learn again to appreciate and more fully taste the things that are naturally delicious and stop deluding ourselves as to things that are "supposed" to be awesome but are actually our minds telling us we should like certain things...and you know mind over matter is the way of the human animal.
This is not middle school, and my dislike for you does not stem from an immature understanding of attraction.
I'm not pretentious, just naturally better than everyone else. Thanks for your appreciation, I will put it in my book of people who understand how perfect I am... it is my goal to fill this book up and publish it so everyone knows how awesome I am...just a list of names and quotes from me that they liked. Okay, I shall go to bed now...must catch up on my beauty rest.
I apologize. You have not exactly been nice to me on this forum, so I assumed the worst. Besides, unless you have created a repertoire with an individual online, it can be difficult to discern sarcasm or a joke.
This is true. But I have nothing against you personally, or anyone for that matter. We just disagree on things. So be it.
Yah man totally agree. People tend to take things so seriously. What sort of place would this be if everybody was speaking the same mindless drivel that the Dems and Repubs have been brainwashing us all with? Bunch of obama robbots beeping all about saying he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Than we'd have all the Romniens squealching their cries for MOAR MOAR MOAR defense spending and MOAR wars to keep the machine grinding up bones. Yes appreciating anothers point of view is an acquired taste especially when not taking it on the chin as a personal attack.
I acquired a taste for unsweetened tea. Acquired a taste for weed, acquired a taste for peppers... I could go on, but I didn't like any of these things when I was a kid (aside from weed, I didn't try that until I was 18, lol). You could say my tastes have changed perhaps, but really, isn't that saying the same thing?
Is being the dumbest man on the Internet an acquired taste? Do you write you girlfriend paragraphless love letters? Read a book.
