so yes, many threads around here about acne which i have looked through, but i still have some questions i guess... it's so gross ya know? i hate it... :(

my skin is dry... i use an aveeno moisutrizer for acne-prone skin to moisturize it. sometimes i use clearasil but it seems to just make it worse, and so does all that rough drying stuff like proactive/the generic brand of it... and i get blackheads and little bumps more often than red spots or whiteheads. and those are stubborn as all hell.

what to do with blackheads? i've read about extraction.. and we used to have a little metal thingie to do it, but it got lost and i remember it hurting and sometimes only making it red and sorer and not even getting rid of the pustule. so what are good ways to get rid of blackheads and those little bumps...

i think i'm going to stick with just washing with water and not wearing makeup because my skin seems to do the best that way... but i would still like to get rid of the stuff under my skin for good.

Was for spiritual reasons. But after absorbing the Gospel of Thomas where Jesus says "It is not what goes into your mouth that defiless you, it is what comes out of your mouth that defiles you" I had a re-think and re-evaluation of self, life, values, purpose, nature, creation etc etc...........

I started using this stuff called "ST.Ives Apricot Scrub" my sisters told me to try it out and man this stuff works!
Theres a bunch of different St.Ives scrubs for certain purposes like blemish/blackhead control,Age defying, and their all oil free.Makes your skin feel nice & smooth!
Proactiv sucks, all that did was dry out my skin and make my face shiney!

Oh yeah you can buy this stuff at a local supermarket(Ralphs, albertsons,I think target has it too...)

And don't wash your face with any soap! That drys your face out if you have sensitive skin.

I hear not using anything at all works too...Like no soap, acne medication, creams ya know?Get some sunshine on that face too!(not too much though)Exercise helps too(sweat)

I don't care if this stuff is for chicks(I don't think it is)...It freakin' works!!!

I've got acne, not extreme but still.

I don't use any special products, just....soap. And antibackterial soap works better than clearasil in my experiance! ^^

the best luck I had with acne was just using water....... no soaps..... I have very sensitive skin....... I tried so many creamers, noxema, and they didnt help much...... if it all. I went through bad acne through my teen years and college... and dont scrub your face! thats the worst thing to do. I wouldnt get alot of breakouts, just huge pimples that would swell and hurt..... the worst place was on sensitive areas like the nose and ears

Same here, I just use regular antibacterial soap... Works as good if not better than anything else in my experience.. :D Oh, and just not touching my face much, and washing my hands a lot.. And wiping my face off with just water if it starts to get oily.. :D

I used to have really bad acne until I went to the doctor, who perscribed me an antibiotic called Doxycycline and also put me on an estrogen based pill called Estelle, which is apparently the same a jasmine
My doctor told me that one of the most common causesfor acne is an imbalance of testosterone, leaning on the too much side of things...

    worked for me

I have battled my skin since I was like 13. In fact it's the reason I began making soap. I make my veggie-henp based soap with tea tree and many other herbs which have natural antibacterial properties. I am 30 and still have acne worse now than ever WTF? I find it helpful to wear make up as little as possible, not touch my face, wash twice a ady and moisturize as well. Even though I am oily good moisture is important to prevent over drying which causes more break outs. Cocoa butter on blemishes helps them heal asap. my 2 cents.

ok everybody, i am going to tell you this again. Hydrogen peroxide 40%. If you want to clear up your skin and not destroy your health, listen to me. Everybody for the love of god, get off the anti-biotics. they will destroy your intestinal tract's good biotic flora and eventually lead to horrible overgrowth of candida which is a living hell. Please, pleazse listen to me. i have seen miraculous cures of acne using 40% hydrogen peroxide. this treatment is so simple and cheap and it works. if you wont try it, you need to have bad skin to have something to complain about. i will go back and copy paste my old post in a sec. just do what i am telling you and you will clear up your skin in a few weeks. i mean it.
