This is a good example of how academia and conservatives routinely produce copious blue smoke and mirrors.

String theory is over 40 years and, other than producing a little interesting math, has produced nothing whatsoever. In fact, the experimental evidence has indicated its impossible to prove string theory, and anyone in physics will tell you anything older than a decade is ancient history. The Three Stooges will now conquer flat-land, but they'll never admit the fourth dimension can be treated as a joke.

Reporters know who they can call, for an easy story that's complete bullshit, that makes money, and won't get them censored. Intellectual click bait.
