    Blue plastic pails parade
    the side walk, collecting
    rainwater and every once
in a while a solid kick
    from a sordid face, someone

    who despises the joy of
    hauling bits of detritus
    and sand to and fro.

    They are lined up like
civil war soldiers on salute, sentenniels
    dispensing silent salutations
to spotted cats that wander by.

They are lost to the eyes
    whose hands once filled
    and emptied the plastic
    cylinders (bottomless holes
    for treasures secular and holy)
    oblivious of time for time
    has no part of eternity.

    The blue is stranger than
    any natural color, the sky
    has never been as secretive
    as their uncommpromising hues.

    Sheered with rainwater upon
    a backdrop of summer grass,
    handless, hopeless, and forgotten.

Have you considered submitting to contests on sites like Poetry.com?

The first stanza popped into my head and I really liked the alliteration
so I wrote the rest on the spot.

Haven't really considered contests, they would just hurt my ego...

OK, no contests. Great stuff, anyway. Keep it up.

Wow, this one was strong all the way through, great imagery. Everything seem to fit together and you ended very nicely. Great job.

Loved it all but this is the part I think that grabbed me most. From what I gathered Poetry.com is an online version of that thing they had snailmail style....oh, you didn't win but we wanna publish it in our collection and you can purchase a copy for $49.99 kinda thing. I may be very wrong but I know some of the online ones are like that.
