glad that's not the world in my head, but i sure could live without people who try to make it be. in my own world there are not really names of places. just places smothered under pavement where it is relatively easy to live. and places that aren't where it isn't, unless you're young. there are places, some still, that are densely forested as nature intended, places that are mountainous and places that are good for growing things. there are rivers and lakes and oceans, and little furry, scallie and featherie creatures, and there are things that we build, houses and infrastructure. sometimes nature destroys itself, but far more often it is only humans and the narcessism of our species, that comes along and messes everything up by trying to impress each other, naming everything after ourselves, and demanding everything have to be owned.
Both of these maps are pretty ugly....kind of like putting a red hot brand on a terrified cow. Except for Jim Hightower I haven’t heard of many admirable Texas politicians. My own super hero in history is Chief Seattle.
