A Thought about a Question Not Answered in the Movie Dogma

Okay I've watched this movie several times. I have thought of a possible answer towards the end when the main female character whose name I think was Bethany asks GOD some question about why "we" are here. GOD played by Alanis Morriessette answers her by poking Bethany's nose and making what I will call a playful sound.

What I have thought by this answer is that maybe GOD's purpose is for us to be his or her or whatever's offspring.

???

That's just what that part of the movie made me think.

I don't know

 

I've seen DOGMA quite a few times.

I don't know anything about religion but the movie did a good job at explaining theories and interpretations for me enough to be entertained.

My interpretation of the Bethany nose poke answer to the question "why are we here"

Is:

Follow one's nose
Trust to one's instincts.
You are on the right track so follow your nose

 

No real answer could imply there's no real purpose/reason for our existence.
