Going to see this film is just about an hour!!! Preview looks very dramatic and stylish... excited to see just what Tom Ford can do in the director's chair! Its currently in limited release so I doubt it's playing everywhere... seriously, I don't think I have been this excited to see a film in a long time!

A Single Man - 9/10 - It took me almost a week to sit down a put my thoughts together after seeing this film in the theaters for the holiday. 'A Single Man' is fashion mogul Tom Ford's directorial debut so of course you can count on a very beautiful film drenched in haunting imagery and esquisite detail.

After the death of his partner, a college professor tries to go through an otherwise regular day in his life. If Collin Firth is not nominated for his leading role as George I will truly be shocked. Great performances all around, of course, but Julianne Moore (George's longtime friend and last female lover) is also a standout and should be a shoe-in for a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The musical score was also incredible and days after my first viewing I found that the music would strike up in my head.

All-in-all this is a wonderful first film by Tom Ford with top notch acting, cinematography, imagery, storyline, everything... My only complaint is that Ford may need to work on making sure that the film's aesthetics don't get in the way of his storytelling.

Did you get a chance to see it? I'd love to hear other people's opinions on this considering this and Antichrist were my favorite movies of 2009. As far as the ending is concerned, I guess depending on the viewer it could be viewed as either happy or sad... as with any great film (especially drama), it's debatable =)
