i just watched this while baked.... it's so trippy and awesome. i have no idea if it made any sense at all, or if it just seemed that way due to being baked. either way, it enhanced my high, and was an amazing experience i would love to repeat.
it does make sense, sort of. I think it's alright, especially the dialogue between Robert Downey Jr. and Woody Harrelson.
It makes perfect sense, you just might need to watch it a few times to fully grasp the concept of the video. If you really want to see your mind blown by a complex movie that takes you awhile to figure out, watch Primer. It's a low-budget film, but still VERY well directed and filmed. If you claim to have figured Primer out after viewing it just once, you're probably lying.
That movie is awesome. I comprehended it on the first time through. Another trippy movie is The Nines. Thats movie was intense.
i started watching about 25 minutes in while high. im guessing i 85% understood it. i understood what and how, but not so much why
yea, its awesome, saw it high and tripping on lsd. the book by philip k dick was waaay better though.
It's good, but I like Waking Life better... But if you barely understood A Scanner Darkly, you probably will have no idea what's going on in Waking Life.
i understood it, i just kept noticing that about every 30 seconds, the subject they were talking about shifted to the point where i couldn't remember what they had been talking about 30 seconds before, but i'm not sure if that was true or just my perception, being really really baked. drew... i love the nines. it's such a metaphysical awesomeness. i really like ryan reynolds, he always does interesting stuff. but the thing i love about that movie is it really fits in with what i believe about this place we call reality. i believe it to be basically true, more or less. lol, and i see nines EVERYWHERE since watching it.
Finally someone brought the book up. I was really hoping this thread was about the book... anyway, is it so much better/different from the movie that it's worth reading for someone who found the movie to be...underwhelming? What else would you (or anyone) recommend by Dick? I've only read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and I thought it was good...a little bit of a chore at points but worth reading.
