    Hi,

I smoke pot daily, have done shroom 5x, and done the odd painkiller here and there. I don't really consider these hard drugs, although some would argue that shrooms and pills are.

Anyway, when I say hard drugs I mean H, coke, and speed. A question I've had is why are hard drugs considered hard drugs. Is the high more profound or is it just that the health risks are greater?

From personal experience, I know shrooms can we extremely powerful to the point of completely losing touch with reality. I know the high is different for every drug, but I can't imagine other drugs being much more powerful and you still remembering what happened.

So I guess the question is what makes a drug "hard?"

    Peace

It's more based on addiction potential.

Mushrooms sure fuck you up more than coke, but coke is considered a harder drug. If it was a side by side comparison based on 1 dose only, shrooms is more dangerous, however they are exceptions since cocaine can cause complications. However because of repeated or heavy use of coke, it causes many more negatives than shrooms.

It's also funny that many of these "hard drugs" are schedule II and marijuana, LSD, shrooms, MDMA etc. is Schedule I.

its not a legal term in this country anyway, but -generally- the major factors people take into consideration are

    -addiction potential
    -profundity of experience
-effect on everyday life with common usage
    -toxicity

for example, marijuana has a moderate to high level of potential for psychological addiction, and produces a moderately profound alteration in consciousness, but does not offer physical addiction, does not generally cause a person to have a disfunctional life when not using, and it has very low toxicity. cocaine is far more addictive for certain people, has a moderately profound affect on consciousness, can effect everyday life, and can be very toxic. heroin and painkillers have severe addiction potential, severely profound alteration of consciousness, with common use they often interfere with your life very much, and they can be highly toxic in certain dosages. heroin and pain killers are "harder" than cocaine, and cocaine is "harder" than marijuana. of course its all relative and depends on the person as well...cocaine may be more addictive to you than opiates.

you get into thinking that because they're called "hard" drugs it means the effects are also rougher, harsher, or less gentle...they're scary things and unpleasant, but its simply not the case. the harder the drug, the more likely it feels FUCKING AMAZING...oxycodone, hydrocodone, opium are very very gentle with you, very relaxing, very soft feeling and romantic, but they are very "hard" drugs in that they are far more dangerous to the average joe than, say, a couple glasses of wine.

as a side note, painkillers are definitely hard drugs by nearly any definition of the phrase. remember heroin is an opioid, too, and it used to be sold in over the counter children's cough syrup. there are opiates out there that are legal with a prescription but are much stronger than heroin...pure heroin is no more dangerous than many other opiate type drugs, and they are all the same ballpark -generally-

in other words, don't rationalize pill use. much of it is as dangerous, if not moreso, than doing heroin.

    I disagree, nesta. :(

"Hard" drugs are those that cause more harm on the body than health on the psyche.

Any narcotics...meth, heroin, speed, opium, cocaine, anything that mostly acts on your metabolism is a hard drug.

However, anything psychotropic (cannabis) or psychedelic (LSD, mushrooms), are the LEAST damaging on your system and cause the most profound effects overall. Snorting an 8-ball in one night may leave you profound, but at decent potency, will also leave you in the ER. :(

However, LSD, while not damaging you phsically...it has no harmful effects on any bodily systems, yet, can shatter your ego and propult you into complete psychosis.

The decicision is...blue pill, feel good for a short while?

Or red pill, and feel shitty for a short while, and exhilarating for the rest of your life?

the main reasons they r "hard drugs" are this
    1. they have neormous addiction potential
    2. the high is very short which leads to reason #1
    3. they r usually cut with some other drug, maybe even a lethal drug
    4. another reason i think is all these "hard drugs" can be shot up which is very dangerous if u do the wrong dose, inject wrong
but i think all the other hipforums ppl will agree with me

Cause they cost a lot and ruin your life for being addicted to it. They're all pussy though I tried em all, the only hardcore drugs are psychedelics and disosiatives or however you spell it. I'm drinking and on DXM right now.

hahahaha That was all incredibly pointless. Orison posts shit like that all the time, just playing around and pushing peoples' buttons, but he means it in the best way. He was saying you're an imposter, in the sense that you're not Cheezus of Cannabis. hahaha How is it not obvious that it was a joke?

If its so I'd say tobacco is HARD drug. I find it to be one of most addicting drugs out there. I have done lots of amphetamine and smoked tobacco in the past, and it's pretty hard to tell which one is more addicting, they have same kind of craving feeling, I mean amphetamine cravings feels just the same like nicotine cravings.

But I don't sort drugs. Drugs are drugs, no matter if it is caffeine or amphetamine.
