A patriot's history of the united states

My dad gave me a big thick book to read a while back. Halfway through and it is a pretty good telling of the American history. Better than most history books. I am just getting to civil war reconstruction.

I was originally thrown by some of the endorsements on the book, but the material is surprisingly free of bias in either direction. Just pure historical fact. Refreshing.
