A near-death experience related to DMT?

Discussion in 'DMT' started by Deleted member 50876, May 26, 2008.

  1. Although I have yet to try DMT, I have been fascinated with it since I have encountered similar experiences through my usage of high amounts of LSD and mushrooms.

I recently have found this video in which a man explains his near death experience, and I thought it was VERY interesting how his explanation of it mimics that of DMT...

Someone could shed some light on this, but I think it may be somewhat relevant to the "ego loss" plateau you can reach with psychadelics

Until you try DMT, it is very difficult to understand it, there is no words that somebody can fully explain it to you. You can just try to imagine, but you will still be far from the whole expirience.
There is no ego, you don't even have time for ego, it just explodes and you expirience ethernity in the single moment.
It is same to try to explain to somebody who never tried LSD what the trip looks like, they can try to imagine, but it is definitely beyond imagination. We are too stupit to just imagine devine moments like that, we need to die to know how to live. And thats what the trip is like.

    totally agree with shapeshifter

  4. I agree with everything he said too, I just found it very interesting how the video I posted is extremely relevant to the DMT studies/stories in the book by Rick Strassman, DMT: The Spirit Molecule. I've even had slight similar experiences on LSD and even high doses of mushrooms.

I've heard that DMT is released just before you die.

However, the reports I've heard of a k-hole are much more like the stereotypical NDE, what with "seeing the light" and all.

Never tried either, though, and never had a NDE.

    Hey shapeshifter :)

Your signature pic of the 'cosmic man' and all those lines making that grid ... , well to explain... i had a NDE or ego death experience on E some years ago ..and i saw those lines!! (among other things ... auras, vortexes, xray vision and what not, as well as 'meeting the light') ...so anyway that pic in your sig is the first reference to the lines of light i saw within my death experience ... in twelve or thirteen years since i've heard or seen no mention of that anywhere but here they are in your pic. Thanks!
To elaborate about the lines ... so i'm in the middle of my rapture, the light has appeared and spoke to me and then faded and i'm just witnessing all these things like the auras and looking into and through solid objects and stuff and for a few moments i notice these lines of light ...as if they are creating a grid matrix in space which forms 'boxes', roughly a foot square i guess (actually they were more oblong than square) and in the middle of each box was a misty vortex of energy ..on it's side.

So anyway i'm very glad to see your pic, thanks again :)

Back on topic ... i like that guys story and i totally agree with his sentiments that it's more real than our normal reality. For me it was 'being my true self' and 'home' ... my natural state. The way he equates god with 'HE' though rattles me a bit and shows those christian undertones, but i'd agree that 'hell' is simply being or feeling or thinking separate from that light, because that light is also love.

    That guy was lucky! :)

    Glad to hear that!
If you want to find more of those things you expirienced through trips in visual form, visit www.alexgrey.com and see his paintings. Even better, go see them while you are tripping, they won't be static I promise you, they will tell you the whole story.
