From my experience they seem to like to teach you everything about martial arts.

I don't think there are many of them, to be honest.

Well strangely, some of those internet marketing pillocks are actually telling the truth in a way.

Many martial arts use a carrot system to get their recruits working/ earning the information. So you'd have to spend many years to learn the advanced techniques of many TKD/ karate systems etc. I mean if I'm snr instructor why the fuck should I give my most valued info to a student who might overtake me in the hierachy in the future?

Likewise in Chinse arts, which are probably more open about advanced techniques. Information is valuable. So why give it away too cheaply?

Also, what the hell is the point of telling some untrusted, potentially volatile member of the public how to kill someone with his little finger?

You make some valid points in your post - as overly cynical they maybe.
I do know how to kill somebody with two fingers.
But saying that, most people do not have fingers that are the same size, so, I guess, I could kill somebody with one finger.
The other thing is: why would anybody want to kill anybody with one finger?

There are no "martial arts secrets". The martial arts have been in existence for thousands of years. The Pankration existed in ancient Greece. Chinese martial arts go back 4,00 years.

Some knowledge may not be well known, but over time every technique has been tried and taught by someone.

Here is an excellent article on the Pankration and how it relates to and used many techniques commonly associated with Eastern martial arts.

But in the end size and mass are hard to overcome in a fight.
Anyone want to take on Andre the Giant in his prime?

    Thanks. That is very interesting.

I would like to see a (feature) film that wasn't just about gladiators and spears.

I've watched that show, but missed that episode. Unfortunately the second part is blocked.

Most film fights are so unrealistic it's amazing.
