Just something I wrote a little earlier this evening. Critics welcome . Walking through this town Seeing all the familiar faces Their graces, and friendly places A pretty little girl came and said to me "Anything can be anything if only you believe it." Isn't that freedom? Isn't that free will? Isn't that the american dream? Squandered by promises Of fast living, and quick riches Material means of salvation Deception in a smile A single, crystalline teardrop Fell across the little girls face And this time she said "A life is nothing without love" One night stands and the stench of infidelity Shouldn't love be true? A falsetto of tear choked voices and hung up phones It cuts straight to the bone Spread love Spread peace All we are is what we become Love will always conquer all A melancholic day, drenched to the core The little girl came up to me once more She said, "everything is beautiful in the rain For in the rain, there is no pain And everything looks a little more sane" Isn't that life? Isn't that real? The world seemingly so surreal Rain streaked windows give a view to few But for those that look A picturesque view of eternity That's all it really took
