I mentioned a lid (referring to weed) in another thread and people laughed at me!! What the hell - don't stoners know what a lid is anymore? WTF is wrong with this generation of dopers. Any good head know what a lid is!! Go smoke some incense man!! Kids - what can you do?
LOL! Most today just ask for an ounce, or a half, 1/3rd, a quarter. I'd never heard the term "lid" before you used it in that other thread.
but in all seriousness, is it like a measurement of how much you buy? like a dub, dime bag, eighth etc..
Isn't a lid four fingers tall in the bag or something? I like standard measurements more in this recession.
Exactly - you wanted an ounce of dope - you asked for a lid. :wheelchair: I'm talking 1969 - 73. Where were you in '72?
That's old school terminology man, I dig it :2thumbsup: I'm gonna start using it, see if I can bring it back.
Actually I think you are right. I just took it to be an ounce - which it pretty much always was. I sold just a little dope in my time and I measured it out as an ounce. (Did 3 months on the County Farm in Raymond, MS. for it)
Another archaic term is two, three, or four fingers, to describe the size of your "lid". When you hold the bag in your hand, how many fingers side to side, does the plant matter cover. Is it filled to a depth of two or three fingers.
Oooh! Big Spender! I could only get it together for a matchbox. Hey Mississippi, ever buy grass in a Mason Jar? There was some righteous Columbian weed being sold by the pint jar. (And NO kids, it wasn't from South America - A local joke)
I was talking to an old timer once and he told me that a lid was when you took a Prince Albert tobacco can and filled it up to the indentation where the lid snapped down hence the term lid. I was talking to another person in a youth hostel years ago and he was telling me he got some loose tea in a tin that said "A lid of Tea" on it. I was born in '75 by the way. Stay Brown, Rev J
