I have met a holy being! I just reunited with my bestest friend from childhood. She has a two year old son and a four month old son. The 5 month old, Caleb, Has a midline brain defect. His corpus collosum (sp?) is missing. He gets all his hormones from medicine as his pituitary gland is pretty much non exsistant. At 1 year he will begin getting growth hormones. He is also blind in one eye and mostly blind in the other, he may see light in the good one. I'll tell you what. I walked in the room and it just beamed off of him. He's fat and jolly and he just laughs and laughs when he hears your voice. He loves for you to put your face against his and rub him, he just flips with joy. He reaches put with his hands and tries to catch you so he can feel you. I just feel like I have been touched by an aged soul who is here on earth to teach me something. Everybody, light a candle for him so he will have a wonderful life.

I love interacting with special needs children. They are happy most of the time. I work with special needs people and when I'm sad or upset they know how to brighten my day up! I wish your friend luck with her son.

    wow that's pretty inspiring.

    I love those moments.

a good thing to remember is that all of us have that little "special needs" child inside of us, one who's soul laughs at sunshine and a warm face.

i work with 2 handicapped children. They are soooooooooooo awesome. brother n sister. they have autism and ADHD and the little girl does sign language. Mi love myjob. I have worked with average children as well but i see that sparkle in their eye that they have all the ambition and expression to show us "i can do it.... look" ... it gives me the goose bumps. i love kids so much. i teach every other Sunday Sunday school and i work and i'm in school for Early Childhood Education. So i'm very glad you didn't take what he has offensively...lke some people do because the way i look at it is...

If a handicapped person can something "different" how about you show "me" how "you" do it i'll try to do it your way and "i'll" help you do it my way. That way there they see how WOW!!! that is different !! i shouldn't say things anymore!!
