these are probably really obvious to others but idk. first off, for my yearly physicals i am told to pee in a cub. what exactly is this for? is this a drug test or just checking that im healthy? if it is not a drug test(im pretty sure it isnt) and they do find thc can i be charged with anything? another question: when filling out the endless papers before the physical it asks if i have recently taken any recreational drugs, etc. it seems obvious to me to deny any use but what if they do find thc or something else? can i be charged at all for lying?

    sorry for the ignorance.

it's best not to lie on those sort of papers because your doctor needs accurate info to keep you healthy. you can't be charged with possession for saying you've smoked weed.

the piss test they do is because what's in your piss can tell you a lot about what's going on in your body.

basicly, don't worry about it, tell the truth it's for your health.

I would deny it when i was younger, not any more. I did admit to smoking marijuana, and my Dr. said this may have triggered my anxiety and therefore put me on a different medication then what i was on. He gave me a lecture though on why i sould not smoke because it can make my anxiety worse and so on...

How can your doctor tell you how you feel? Does he know the first thing about you other than your medical record that he paged through before you arrived? Not that you should never listen to your Dr, but a daily regiment of pills is something I would think twice about...

My Dr. just says smoke isn't good for your lungs, who is going to argue that? You know that cold piece of metal he puts on your chest? He hears the gurlge of the resin in your lungs through his stethoscope. Don't even try to hide it. :cheers2:

You wish. Don't you know you have no human rights until your 18.

sooooo not true. you gain doctor-patient confidentiality at age 15, your own parents aren't allowed to see medical records if you dont want them to.

know your rights, even if they don't particularly apply to you.

yeah, i'll just wait another year til i admit to my doctor. my mom would get really suspicious if i told her not to look at my records for some reason.

    Perspective from health care field:

Urine is not for drug testing, it's only to check for microscopic blood and protein and other metabolites, not street drugs.

On the checklist, you can put down whatever you're comfortable with. I don't know how the health care system in the US works (crazy HMO's what whatnot), but lying to your doctor is not a crime. If you tell your Dr. the truth, he/she might ask some questions about why you do it and your intentions of quitting, but nothing more.
