My cousin has confided in me that she has been approached to work in the porn industry...but she says it only involves one scene and that's with another girl. I have mixed views on this... but I want to support her descision. What are your views? What advice would you give her about this?
tis upto her i guess, the porno industry is a strange one, i mean they tend to drag people in subtly...
Yeah I think that's right, what may seem like a small first step can actually lead to much bigger things, once you're being paid for having sex you may as well consider yourself a whore...
I suppose it depends on your definition of a whore... or the social context surrounding the issue of whether being a whore is something to be ashamed of or not.
well yeah, i mean they may say now that its only for one small scene, but they'll offer other things no doubt, and once youve done it once its easy to do more and more
Why would you not be ashamed of being a whore? Whore n. A prostitute. A person considered sexually promiscuous. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain. What exactly is good about that?
Oh come off it Jon....Don't play like you don't: A. Want to see something with a Relative of Claire in it B. Watch porn constantly (with or without drinking first...) c. Think whores are perfectly ok, just as long as they are shagging you for cheap (so you have more money for wine )
I think you missed: Word History: Derivatives of Indo-European roots have often acquired starkly contrasting meanings. A prime example is the case of the root *k -, “to like, desire.” From it was derived a stem *k ro-, from which came the prehistoric Common Germanic word *h raz with the underlying meaning “one who desires” and the effective meaning “adulterer.” The feminine of this, *h r n-, became h re in Old English, the ancestor of Modern English whore. In another branch of the Indo-European family, the same stem *k ro- produced the Latin word c rus, “dear.” This word has several derivatives borrowed into English, including caress, cherish, and charity, in Christian doctrine the highest form of love and the greatest of the theological virtues. ·Another derivative of the root *k - in Indo-European was *k mo-, a descendant of which is the Sanskrit word for “love,” k ma , appearing in the name of the most famous treatise on love and lovemaking, the Kamasutra. Words have many routes and meanings
I think you can only advise her of the risks and support whatever informed decision she makes. I don't think I'd be happy if it was anyone in my family, but it's her choice, and disapproving of it once she's made it may make the whole experience much more painful for her. If you're there for her to support her all the way through, whatever choices she makes, it may help her to avoid the slippery slope....
Is there even a slippery slope? I wouldn't know, I haven't been involved in the industry myself But if there's any chance of her being exploited, in any way whatsoever, you being there for her will probably help her to avoid it. It'd be much harder if she didn't think she could talk to someone about it, the same with many difficult choices people have to make in life....
At least shes getting sex People do a lot of things for money... mainly work for it... if she is working for it does it matter what her work is if she is consenting? I am ashamed at you for being so un liberal!
I really resent that, whatever I may or may not have told you about my personal life has no relevance here.
oh come on....isn't it common knowledge that you're a porn-loving boozer? I mean, come on...it;s soooo obvious!
