Hey everyone, all of my account info was trashed, so I'm starting over as cryptoman. Used to be signed in as Ron and Julie. Julie has been working nights and sleeping during the day, so she's not able to participate like she'd like to.

Anyway, I'd like to say that we've met a lot of really cool people here on this forum and that our community is still coming together. I kinda lost touch with a couple of people while this site was down so if you want to find out whats been going on e-mail me at crypto_man_2000@yahoo.com You can e-mail Julie too at bluesafire70@yahoo.com, but it might take her a few days to reply. You can go directly to our msn group at http://groups.msn.com/OurNaturalHearth/yourwebpage.msnw It's sad to see a lot of the great things that were on this site gone. Does anyone know if things were permanently lost?

    Peace and Love

As You Have Read In An Earlier Post People Are Coming Together, To Build For Themselves A Future Founded In Personal Peace And The Coexistence With Nature.. Isnt It Great? I Personally Believe It Is And Take An Active Participation In Group Discussions And Stuff, One Should Read The Post On Dhammic Socialism And If Agreeable Should Give Consideration To Us... If In Fact You Are Serious About A Change In Your Lifstyle (for The Better No Doubt!) You Really Should Talk To Ron Or Even 7rivers About What We Have Going On Visit Our Group Site And Give Us Your Positive Input.... Until Then!

Hey EM, well...the final decision will be made when everyone committed to this vision meets and decides as a group. Right now we're looking at Canada, but there isn't anything set in stone. We won't vote until we have at least 10-12 people committed. It's a big project and we'll need at least that many to get this thing off the ground. A lot of us are going to gather here in Missouri throughout the summer to bring in the harvest, do the canning, and bring the funds together. Right now it seems like we have six solidly committed and a few more strongly considering it. It takes a lot of courage to leave everything behind and start something new like this. We do have a lot of great people and we want to find a few more with the same basic commitment to peace, love, and the earth.

    Peace and love

Hey serra, I know what you mean about the right time. We have to follow our intuition. Sometimes it drives me crazy, and I try to "hurry things up" but things need to unfold and not be forced. Canada is one of the places that we're strongly considering. I used to be able to look out my dining room window and see Victoria Island, but circumstances brought me south again instead of north...go figure. Now that I'm here I realize what I needed to do, and with that over, I feel that northward pull again. Peace and Love to you.

My entire life has been working toward the establishment of a new community. I have studied, theorized, visited, and held IC disscussion groups. I have learned a lot about why such groups usually fail, and why some have done rather well. We considdered Canada, but decided that it was too hard to grow the crops we want in that coldof a climate.Life would be too hard. Since childhood,i have had a recurring dream of a farm with a cave, and i think we may now know the general location for that dreamscape. but this country is turning into a police state far too fast. Now we are seriously looking at Costa Rica. the climate is amazing land is cheap, and life would be so easy there. We try and live communally where we are,but most people just come to use rather than contribute. I would love to open up a dialog with anybody serious about creating community. Within a year we willhave room for 7-8 adults here in the woods of suburban NC ,and within four years, hopefully we can move on to the next larger site. Anybody willing to put time and effort into creating something that can endure and not just become another cage?

Hi all,I have been an on off member of hipforums for over a year now and I must say that I have seen posts of this sort on numerous occasions and everytime i get my hopes up thinking that maybe there is a place for me in this cold world and then evrytime for some reason or another nothing comes of it. I am not saying this to be negative, but I am so very interested communal living, unfortunatley I live in this damned society and work all the time so i therefore have no time to pursue this as much as i would like to.
So please will you give me the information needed to join one of these new communtites you speak of, I am a 21 year old male very virile and healthy, with a good sense of responsibilty and good work ethic, a very caring individual who feels as though his love of life is slowly being leeched out by all this madness in our country. So please just let me know.

When I started connecting with people of like mind on hip forums and on other sites, I realized that many people desire a community, tribe, or family, but that many are not serious in the pursuit. It means putting yourself, your thoughts and feelings on trial for other people to judge whether you "fit" with them or not. What we've tried to do is put all of our thoughts and feelings on our MSN community (listed below) and just give people the opportunity to see what we're about without the pressure of "fitting in" with us. A lot of people have joined our group and have participated, but a lot of people really don't believe in the principals and philosophies that we do. We've made a lot of friends this way and not all are joining us. The people that are joining us are fully invested in this vision and we don't consider ourselves a community. We are a family. For this I would like to say thank you to hip forums, because this is where I met keith and Will. Will is already here it was like he was just coming home. Keith is coming in from Ireland on the 16th and I've felt a strong connection with him from the start. Both of them are closer to me than my own brother by blood, and our vision is going full steam. We've been told that if you wait for near perfect connections that it'll take forever to get our community off the ground. To this I say, I'd rather wait for the right people and have a small family as to try to force something to end up with a large community. Right now we have 10 people and 2 more coming to visit. I understand your frustration, I've been anxious for this for some time, but when the time is right, things just start falling into place. Check out Our_Natural_Hearth and if we don't seem like total freaks...well...I guess you went to the wrong place :D . Seriously though, you just might fit right in. If you have any questions after looking at the group, just e-mail me (also below) don't get discouraged though. If this isn't the one for you, just know that it's out there.

    Peace and Love to you

Sorry, The site was discontinued when we disbanded the official attempt at a community. I tried to erase the link a couple of times, but kept doing something wrong. If you're interested in something communal, on a really small scale, you can PM me. We're looking to establish more of a small extended family, or tribe than a real commune.

My friends and I have been toying with the idea of starting a commune for years. We're all in our early 40's with families and kids, but most of us have useful skills like farming/growing crops, and construction, so we thought of moving to Canada where it's a little more liberal, we could buy a large parcel of land, get off the grid, and isolate ourselves from the main stream. You're right, though, it is damned cold up there, so a place like Costa Rica might be more hospitable. It's a heavy comitment, though, not something to be taken lightly, and most communes fail, primarily due to a lack of communication, and differences in vision within the group. I heard a radio program recently about a woman who specializes in making communes work, and the key, she said, is to draw up a very detailed game plan in the beginning, like a charter or a constitution, so that the rolls, visions, and responsibilities of each member of the group are clearly defined, as are the rules, since ideally the commune becomes a self-governing entity.

It looks like you folks have done your homework, though, very cool, I hope it works out for ya, and I'm hoping you guys stay on the internet (and on this forum) so the rest of us can benefit from your experience.

    Peace,

    Mark
