I liked it, I saw it a couple of years ago. But what's the relation with The big Lebowski?

Somewhere I heard that Steven Spielberg may be doing a remake.

I haven't heard that but I wouldn't be suprised...we are in the era of movie remakes after all.

I got the movie for Christmas...I love it so much. I think it's one of the best films that I have ever seen.

I don't understand that. Clockwork Orange is one movie that definitely doesn't need to be remade.

I agree. You can watch that movie now or twenty years from now and it will still be relevant.

I think you've misunderstood the whole point of the film:D:p

Obviously this is one of the best works of cinema ever made. I can't find anything on this Spielberg rumour so hopefully it's just that - a rumour. It's a film way beyond Spielberg's capabilities.

I dont think anyone could adapt the book as well as Stanley did....but Spielberg would probally the one I would trust to do it..(as he knew Kubrick personaly)

I love ACO. The movie is great, but the book is even more powerful.

The film was technically brilliant but Spielberg's tendency to head straight for the sentimental pay-off completely swamped any philosophical import the film might otherwise have had. Its script, acting and direction was a cheap, soggy mess. Kubrick was a master of the craft and one thing he always avoided was the easy christmas-card sentimentality that marks Spielberg's style. Kubrick would have made a very different and far superior film. Perhaps I had too high expectations; even though Spielberg was a fan, he is just incapable of pure expression in cinema like Kubrick was. It's the only film I have ever seriously considered walking out of.

i almost cried for alex after he became the clockwork orange...

    interesting tidbits:
*the author of the book didnt like Kubriks movie
*kubrik intentionally put in continuity errors to disorient the audience
*alex sings "singing in the rain" cause he knew all the words to it

the only thing i dont get is the very last shot, of alex having sex, i still dont get that...

What's this movie about? I've been thinking about seeing it. It's about mind control isn't it?
