it is artificial, it has lights built in and remote control.

    worlds most expensive phallic symbol!

  2. My phallic symbol is bigger and more expensive than yours

  3. I don't like artificial Christmas trees.
Every year a tree has to die so I can celebrate our Savior's bday properly.

Sometimes I don't do the Christmas tree at all though.

We can blame the Germans for introducing the Tree into the holiday.

That's just nonsense. There was always a tree during Yule.

    Germany

Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Some built Christmas pyramids of wood and decorated them with evergreens and candles if wood was scarce.

My tree was 185€ I bought on ebay of a replicated Norwegian Pine. :)

Every year I buy a bonsai at Xmas too, in Yulic celebrations.

The dog always eats it by February. :(

He's an asshole. He gets jealous of them, no lies. He won't kill any other plants but he sees me watering and caring for a bonsai? Oh he'll kill it and drop it right outside my door.

Last time he did I locked him in his kennel and sat the poor dried tree right there so he had to look at it for hours and he knows what he's doing.

Negative attention is still attention for him.

I've heard of people getting potted Christmas trees. Could work I suppose if you've got some outdoor space to keep them during the rest of the year.

Our Christmas tradition when I was a boy included going out and cutting our own tree, always a cedar. I loved the way it made the house smell.

i like high tec toys, though i can't really afford more then a tiny fraction of how many i could put to good use if i could.
crist was cool, but i don't think much of the religion that has been taking his name in vain by naming itself after him.
trees i like. an imitation of a tree, has always seamed kind of incredibly silly to me.
now if i had a yard to have a garden, that is where i would put trees.
not chopped down to park them in the living room (which would be a train room without much room for one anyway)
which has always seemed wasteful, and almost kind of like killing something, a vegan blood sacrafice if you will.
which can't all be blamed on the christers after all, since they stole it from the druids.

yes i would definately, if i were going to buy trees, get one that was ready to plant.
and do so, if not immediately, in some sort of ritual fassion, at midnight of the solstice.

i have to admit, besides being almost the only time i was likely to be given new toys, the smell of cut pine and its needles, was the very best part.
also the lights though, because in those days we didn't have much else in the way of tech toys. even the damd tv was b&w.
