Decided to do my first ever barefoot trail walk at a local park. Since I am still shy and for some reason care what others think in these situations, I brought a pair of crocs just in case lol. Took em off as soon as I got there and noticed noone else was around. Anyway, this was a great experience! It was 46 out, sun coming up over the trees, watching the water run down the bed over fallen trees. I walked the water edge barefoot. First part was all small sharpish rocks, the sensation was great. Then there was a small boardwalk, walked that, then there was a root infested trail to walk along the river bed just before the drop into the actual river bed later on. I looked over the drop, seen a bunch of mud, slip marks from people in shoes trying to get down there. I knew I had to get down there. I walked down there, not one slip lol. The mud felt incredible. My feet were borderline freezing until I got in the mud where it was cool. And to top it off, all my back pain went away. The grounding/earthing thing is very real, at least for me anyway. Have a good day, spring is approaching!
I enjoy hiking barefoot and love the feeling of the earth under my feet. Also it is more relaxing and seems natural.
