Latest AMD Strix Point leak highlights monster 120W TDP and 64GB RAM limit (msn.com) The AI revolution caused a set-back in the electronics revolution, and its still debatable when any of these chips might come on the market, but AMD are the people to watch for an All-In-Wonder chip like this. This is a single chip, with enough graphics power to equal a playstation 5, and 64gb of ram for rendering. This one still uses a lot of power for rendering, but adding 64gb of ram gives us some idea of where the next generation of chips are headed. Simply adding more ram, is a cheap way to add performance, while a modern server chip might come with 350gb of ram. Everybody is now coming out with cheap high speed ram, and AMD is obviously adding just enough here for decent rendering performance. The next generation of these chips should see dramatic efficiency gains and more AI added. In the meantime, others can come out with similar generic chips, such as RISC-V that will help to drive the prices down. As good as the industry leaders are at engineering more efficient products, the fact is everyone already knows all the secrets for how to do that now, forcing the oligopolies to keep up.
