So I'm visiting new orleans to listen to the Louisiana Philaharmonic orchestra play a Haydn's 96th symphony, Mozart'sviolin concerto and Mozarts 96th symphony otherwise known as jupiter. Well to get to the point, other than the music the main objective of this trip was to eat! and eat GOOD! For lunch I ate a Arnaulds which has been in business for over 100 years. I had:
    -Turtle soup
    -Crawfish etouphe (Boring!)
-a Meat pie/pastry similar to an empanada but with a nola twist
    -Pimento cheese baked oyster
-and like 4 other kinds of baked oysters that were fantastic that i can't remember

After the concert I ate at Le Meritage which is recognized as one of the finest dining in nola. I had
Cabbage salad with almond, white raisins with a truffle vinnegrette
-Rack of lamb with seared georgia peach
-Fois gras with a fig compote
    -Duck breast (medium rare)
    -Roasted potatoes
-and a glass of sauvignon blanc cakebread.

Best dining experience of my life. Please share yours!

duck and lamb - sounds like a hefty meal. and pretty tasty i might add.

i like duck minus the fatty layer of skin

i first tried duck in Maine on vacation. of course we had some lobster there too.

i've had amazing scallops at this one local restaurant at a hotel

and thankfully, my fiance is a damn good cook, so i have a great meal most nights :)

Where was the LPO playing at ?

I need to keep up with the classical music concerts around the city, I would have probably gone to that.

It was in kenner. I must say i was dissapointed in the professionalism of some of the players. But the music was fantastic. Especially the violin solo's in mozarts symphonies. I would like to add this was the first time I've had duck liver and its my new favorite food. Today Im going to cafe du monde (I think our beignets back home our prolly better but I need to say I've ate there. Im really excited about going to the zoo. I've heard its one of the best in the south if not THE best

The zoo is great, but I haven't been there since 2002 or 2003. I don't think I've eaten at Arnauds since I was 11 or 12 or so.

    escargot and a kc strip

chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream and rum poured on top for desert

    les halles in new york.

it was so dope, cause i was wearing street clothes, hat and shit - walked straight in and sat at the best table in the window. everyone else in there wearing suits and had to get reservations and shit.

i was 17 at the time and my cousin got us some reeeaally good beers and had gotten me super stoned before we left. definitely best meal ever.
