Hello...I'm 13 and I'm sort of new here. I've been roaming the forums for a few months now..anyways. I'm a vegetarian and I've noticed that I've been feeling really good since I've stopped eating meat. Anyways...should I be a vegetarian right now because I'm growing...don't I need meat to stay healthy because of what's in it? Or are there vitamins I can take? I'm clueless about what's in food.

    I'm just rambling on now. . . .

I'm not going to be too much of a help this late at night seeing as how I'm dead tired, but I think we all feel much better after we have become vegetarian! There are vitamins you can take, I know Vitamin B12 is important, and I'm nearing 15, been veggie since the beginning of this year, and I've been doing fine, I actually am more fit then I have been, and that's not with increased excercise (no more than I've been doing). Other people will be more helpful, perhaps I will when I'm actually awake :D

here's 1 website that I have saved on my favorites list http://www.vegsource.com/
it has recipes, Q & A page, lots of info about vitamins and even a page for veggie youth.

Vegetarianism can be perfectly healthy for people of any age group. There is nothing good in meat that can't be found in plants.

The site squawkers recommended is very good. :)

I went veg at 13, too many years ago for me to count (my son is 13) and a did fall off the wagon a few times. it was then that I'd get sick. fish? hello, kidney infection.
do visit the site squakers noted, and I'll look around for Susan's veg hq link.
