A lot of people keep saying this came from kids meeting after school at a Ca. high school. But in the movie Reefer madness (1938), one of the best lines in the movie is "It's 4:20. . . . do you know where you kids are???" So obviously that term was around before lots of kids started smoking. So I don't think it could be that. Just thought I would cancel that story out.
