i noticed after about 4 hours of looking that there are TWO CAS# for 2ci.
one is for the HCL(salt) of the substance, which i recalled was the optimum and desirable form for any chemical that you want easy and optimum absorption of into the body? so now that i have the vendor that has this , i wanted to be sure i have assumed properly that what would be best IS the 2ci-hcl if i can get that instead of just plain 2ci. input is appreciated.

I think it is just two ways of listing the same thing. Most any vendor will send you your chems as a HCL salt.

The freebase form of 2C-I is an oil and is likely less stable than the HCl form, as well as much harder to deal with since it's an oil. HCl stands for hydrochloride in this case or in general Hydrogen and Chlorine. When you react the freebase form with HCl (an acid), you create a neutral salt which is often more soluble in water, easier to deal with physically, more stable, and can make it easier to purify the chemical.

If a vendor is selling the freebase form of almost any compound, they will nearly exclusively state the fact that their product is in freebase form, if they don't, it is usually the HCl form.
