Great movie!! Just watched it on starz a couple nights ago and was really surprised by it. Never really heard much promotion for it, though it came out in 2002. it's a spike lee movie starring Edward norton. the whole movie is about the eve before norton's character goes to jail for dealing. it show's nortons remorse and acceptance . it's very powerful. It's one of those movies where you know what's has to happen but you wish your hardest for it not to. any fans of american history x will love this film. love, al the pal
Oh god that monologue with Norton talking to himself in the mirror? Fucking Brilliant! I hate Spike Lee movies but with a cast like Norton, Barry Pepper, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Anna Paquin, and Rosario Dawson i was sure this would rock, and it did. I loved this so much.
right on! My ethnicity (puerto rican) was actually mentioned in his little rant. i couldn't take offense to it because it was brilliant (and partly because it was true, we do like to pack large numbers into automobile, eh) I think that and the scene with paquin and hoffman in the bathroom, oh and norton and peppers fight well really well made. great film all around love, al the pal
Ha! True! I've never understood why we stuff all of us groups into one taxi. That's so fucking ridiculous. Get two cabs numbnuts! We Puerto Ricans can be so stupid. I read that Pepper really broke Norton's nose during the fight scene. This movie rules.
it either is we feel like we must rise to the challenge or we're cheap..maybe a little of both. I especially like my when uncle tries to force someone who doesn't want to go in to the car. " no, trust me. we can fit you in. don't worry there's plenty of room." off topic, I'm headed your way in a couple of weeks. new york rules love, al the pal
I also truely enjoyed this movie. I have lots of respect for Edward Norton as an actor, he is truly talented. Anna Paquin and Peppers did a good job as well. I also liked how that rant attacked all ethnicities and didn't leave any out.
