Frank Zappa RIP: http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123484/Remembering-Frank-Zappa-Jams-With-Pink-Floyd C/S, Rev J
Greatest composer of my time, and quite possibly the finest blues guitarist I've ever had the pleasure of listening. 22 years later, he's still dearly missed. Thanks Rev, I didn't realize it was the anniversary.... I think I'm gonna go out in the shed and play "Sofa" on my horn now, and imagine Frank sitting all comfy and calm on a big purple couch. RIP Frank
Sofa and Black Napkins are among my favorites. Actually I think all of Hot Rats is a masterpiece. The Bass Line from Gumbo Variations is probably one of the coolest bass lines ever. C/S, Rev J
That is a very cool bass line. I listened the hell outa Hot rats album. I used to play Violin and I loved hacking away at hot rats and gumbo variations. Of course I was no Ponty, but it was fun and challenging jamming those riffs. Jean luc was fresh and exciting back then, he got pretty boring after the Zappa stint IMO Same ol riffs
