Cool! I'm in Seattle right now and can probably even hitch a ride with the Love Family or someone. It'll be nice to have a gathering in a state where pot is legal, the Utah gather I went to last was a bit too surreal for me.
I really want to join you guys! I've heard Freeman talk about the rainbow family so much. I just want to live with you guys.
I'm in Washington, haven't been to a Rainbow Gathering before but always wanted to go and join "family".
I'm insanely excited for Oregon National. It's gonna be almost as amazingly awesome as WA nationals in cougar. Rainbow is different depending on the region I remember my first gathering (2011 Washington) we were all blessed to be in the P.N.W. Not only for the beauty of the cascade mountains but also the ridiculous amount of weed at that gathering. I remember walkimg down main trail with about 1/2 lbs handing out handfuls thinking I should maybe conserve. Then I ran into at least different brothers and sisters doing the same as me . Being weed fairy. And then the next year in Tennessee there were maybe 5 folks playing weed fairy. Well here's to the family coming back to the West/Left coast and up into this amazing rainforest of the P.N.W. Which I and many other family members call home. Welcome to Oregon. Welcome home. We love you. We're always missing you
This will be the first gathering in a state with legalized recreational marijuana. It will also be the first gathering with Trump as President, so things could get more political than in the past.
They just announced it will be between the towns of John Day and Seneca, in Malheur National Forest. http://welcomehome.org/rainbow/index.html
I attended! Did anyone else? I tell you, it was hot during the day, freezing at night, it was dusty and the air was thin as we were at over a mile elevation. Plus there was a 24-hour stomach bug that spread through the gathering like wildfire and I caught it! Nasty stuff! And I still had a great time! So here are the pics. This is the beginning of the main parking lot. The first information booth as you entered the meadow One of the many kitchens where you could get free food. They served me up some scrambled eggs and home fries, fire-cooked! The Trading Circle where people came to shop for stones, trinkets, toys, etc. in exchange for nuggets, beer or hugs. ?
Another info booth The peace circle begins to form on July 4th. People dancing, sitting in the shade or just hiking by the drum circle in the background
