I would like to hear from other growers with experience in using correct spectrum (2 Separate red and blue spectrum 200W lights)envirolights. I'm finding mine to be energy efficient and perfect for growing in a little cupboard where heat can be a problem. The smaller 125W are also perfect for cloning. In my opinion the 2x200W are more efficient than a single 600W HPS. Opinions please......
usually hps and ml are more efficient. ie u get more lumens for the same amount of watts. i have my clones under 100w hps and it didnt really make a dif. in rooting time compared to a flouro, under flowering and veg cycles i do recommend hps for flower and ml for veg, but hps will deliver good plants on both veg and flower, the plant will just b a lil more stretched out.
Cheers guys I like to hear the opinions. Unfortunately I haven't yet managed to get the space or £ for two seperate grow rooms but it's on the way. I did yield a decent looking harvest the last time but my buds were a bit light for their size. I'll be looking to invest in a 600W HPS soon enough
600s are definitely nice but they are damn expensive. at the price you pay for a 600 you might as well get the 1000 if you have the space/airflow for it.
OK DEEP BREATH............. Man, space and airflow are my biggest limit as explained above. If I did have the space i'd be buying 2 600's as they kick out way more lumens than 1 1000. They also light up a bigger space. The reason the 2 600's work so well is the light from the 2 lamps combines in the middle of your room and creates a hotspot (not the bad kind). I know the 2 lights cost more but if you can pay and you can be bothered moving the plants around every few days so they all have a turn you can get a heavy harvest. My big bro will testify to this. This is the reason I'm using the 2 little envirolights in a cupboard. I also believe they kick out more PAR watts in relation to lumens than HPS and you can have the lights 1 inch away from the canopy without heat problems. More over they're energy efficient and kinder to mother earth! I'm such a ganja nerd but we all need a hobby!!!!
The size/heat/lumens ratio is tops on all CF's, although envirolights are a bit overpriced, as the correct mix of common CF's delivers a full or near full spectrum for a lower investment. Something to consider: Plants respond better to a smaller (ideally point) source of light. In an unregulated test, clones seemed to show more spread and higher yield under a single light source then those grown under equal wattage spread among 4 light sources
