OK, back last July 7 in California, folks that attended the Annual Gathering who had an interest in such matters argued for a few days, and dfinaly decided that the 2005 Annual Gathering would be in some loosely defined area called "the Mid Atlantic region". Further argumentation, some of it at Thanksgiving Council, has, aparently, more narrowly defined this area as the central Appalachains. Sometime around Memorial day, I believe, a spring couicil will be held at which the hippies who have been walking the woods ("Scouting") will argue about which specific location will be the best suited for a village of up to 25,000 people. Can anybody else explain this more clearly? I've been smoking and drinking rather heavily for a couple of days, pardon me.

I think, Wandering Turnip, that that is one of the best explanations I've read of the process. It should be put in the official hipstory.
Last year we were all trying to vibe it to be near Mt.Shasta, with a view of the mountain, even, wouldn't that have been sweet. But it turned out there wasn't a big enough patch of National Forest in that area that would have met our needs.
This year us armchair scouts are vibing it to be in Vermont, but then again, maybe we should go to Vermount this spring and scout around, then get ourselves heard at the council if we find a reasonable site.

Oh, but wait a second. Vermont isn't in the central Appalacians. I didnt read the post closely enough. Hmmm. West Virginia? Virginia? Far too close to D.C. for my liking. Southern, maybe. North Carolina, I would vibe for.
